By: Esther Laguna
According to the book, Brain Power Techniques Tap into the full potential of your brain! "Mindfulness is also called awareness or insight meditation" (pg.14). Mindfulness affects the brain's growth and development. This article will explore mindfulness's effects on the brain.
When one practices mindfulness, the brain's blood vessels and cerebral cortex get larger creating an increase in blood flow in the area which can increase attention span and allow one to focus more clearly. Being more aware and mindful of what one is concentrating on is helpful for the mind and body
Mindfulness can be practiced at any time or anywhere. Practicing exercises allows one to make a routine and be able to practice it daily. Mindfulness allows one's body and mind to reach a calm, clear, and happy state of being. Mindfulness can be reached through meditation or other mindful exercises. Being able to reach a state of peace throughout one's chaotic day can help one be more in tune with their mind.
