Sometimes, it can be difficult for us to find the motivation we need to get things done. Whether it is reaching a professional or personal goal, we can struggle to maintain the motivation we need to feel successful our lives. According to David Smith's e-book “Motivation Made Simple: 101 Easy Ways to Stay Motivate Yourself for Success”, three of the major reasons why individuals struggle with staying motivated includes having lack of confidence, lack of focus, or a lack of direction.

However, this does not mean it is impossible to maintain motivation. It only means that we must take a moment to conquer the fears and anxieties that hinder us from finding ways to overcome them. When we are able to evaluate what is causing our lack of motivation, it becomes easier to gain clarity of the goals we want to accomplish.

Here are some quick tips to stay motivated inspired from Smith's “Motivation Made Simple: 101 Easy Ways to Stay Motivate Yourself for Success”:

1. “Write down all of your goals". This will help illustrate the intentions you have to accomplish them and what you must do to reach any short-term and long-term goals you have.

2. “Do your best". Celebrate every little goal being done the same way you would for a bigger goal. Even just doing one thing from your to-do list is always an accomplishment.

3. “Visualize your success". Look at more than the bigger picture when you have a long-term goal. Consider the small-term goals that will help get you there.

4. “Give it time". It can be easy to give up when we don’t see results immediately, but we all have to start in order to make progress. Those little steps and goals are worth more than you think and will make you closer towards your success.

In essence, it is important to start by focusing on a short-term goal you can start and finish immediately, then work your way towards accomplishing a long-term goal that may take some more time and effort to complete. If you begin to lose motivation, take a moment to remember why you started and keep finding small ways towards meeting all of your goals.
